Summary

Google is the only mainstream search engine that shows recent results when you search for posts on Reddit. This leaves out Bing, DuckDuckGo, and other alternatives. Google has struck a $60 million deal that lets the company train its AI models on content from Reddit.

Anybody not see this coming? Big reason I'm spending as much time I can here.

Same for me, the API shutdown killed my favorite app (RIF) and made me quit reddit on mobile. I just wish more people were here :(

Give it time. I've been here since around the time the site was announced on the Reddit alternatives subreddit. The site's activity has grown so much and I'm pretty sure it'll continue growing! This place used to have nobody posting but the rss-bot lol

I feel like it's been growing! I'm seeing quite a few posts from users I haven't seen before in the groups I'm in these days

I really hope this is the start of their downfall. It's clear that their leadership is actively hostile to consumers

Nothing but greed. Shows you just what assholes they've been this whole time.

Still amazing that they have struggled to be profitable in any way

Not a shock when you can see they've probably only cared about enriching themselves and not actually building something sustainable.
