The Khyargas Lake is Mongolia’s third-largest lake. The lake is 74 kilometers long, 31 kilometers wide and reaching depths of 80 meters. The main attraction is a natural rock formation that runs along the eastern shore.
The shores of Khyargas Lake, especially Khetsuu Khad, are a huge draw for bird enthusiasts. Migratory birds arrive at the lake in April and are off again by mid-September. There is also an abundance of fish species such as the Mongolian grayling, Altai leuciscinae, lake osman and dace.
