That's pretty cool how it comes out so clean! Does it have to be cut in a certain way to do that?

I think they need to be sliced appropriately to ensure proper joining

Edit: replied to myself instead of an edit lol went searching and it is indeed a thin strand of glass

Always thought the fiber was something else for some reason

The name isn't great for describing the material. Optic is probably the closest part of it but I agree it still isn't great.
