Summary

Seven automakers announced plans for a joint venture to build easy-to-access public DC fast charging infrastructure in the US and Canada. The resulting company, Ionna, announced today that its headquarters will be in Durham, North Carolina. The company also hinted at adding “new partners” to the Ionna consortium.

Ricardo Stamatti is the CEO of IONNA. He is a founding member of Ionna. Other members of the C-suite include former BP CFO Derek Rush and Shankar Muthukumar. The company says it’s fully committed to the future of EV adoption and building out infrastructure.

Ha! Just read the article about Musk from venting employees and thought everyone else should be building their own supercharger network! Really glad to see this taking shape and I hope this turns into something like the USB standard.
