Getting rid of collections questions

submitted

Hi! I have been digging around a bit but need some help. I'm trying to help someone get rid of collections accounts. We called them all and of course they're being difficult. We just want an agreement before payment that they will report to the agencies that the debt has been paid in full. They refuse to do anything like that. We ask what recourse do we have if we pay and they don't do it. They say to trust them. Has anyone gotten around this and found a way to get them to send an agreement stating that they will do these things if paid?
