Dheeraj Gopichand Hinduja—he’s the third generation led Ashok Leyland and has been the driving force behind the company’s global push. His middle name comes from his father Gopichand Hinduja who passed away recently on November 4th, 2025.
With Dheeraj Hinduja steering things, Ashok Leyland is setting up assembly plants in Africa and gearing up to launch electric vehicles in markets like Egypt. Dheeraj’s got his eye on the huge potential for EVs in Africa, especially electric buses and light commercial vehicles. He’s betting big on partnerships to help the company dig deep roots and really make an impact across the continent.
